Coorg - The Scotland Of India

 Coorg, also known as Kodagu, is an administrative district which was earlier a separate state but later on was merged with the Mysore state. The district of Coorg is known for its warriors, giving it the name “The Warrior State”.
     
Agriculture in Coorg is the most important factor when it comes to the district’s economy. For example, rice and coffee are grown extensively across the region. Talakauvery

 It is the origin of the sacred river Kauveri. It is located in the Brahmagiri Hill of the Bhagmandala region in the Coorg district. A temple on top of the hill marks the origin point of the river. The water from this point flows underground and mysteriously emerges as River Kauveri some distance away. Thousands of pilgrims visit this holy place to witness the rise of the fountainhead during the month of Kauveri Shankramana.
