Best route by car: via Mysore

Take the Bangalore to Mysore expressway and leave it before Mysore city for the Hunsur road. From Hunsur, continue to Periyapatna and Bylakuppe, and Kushalnagar is a few minutes on. The expressway has tolls. The road after Mysore passes through small towns, so keep your speed down and avoid driving that stretch late at night.

Leave Bangalore early. If you are on the road by 6 or 7 am, you miss the city traffic and reach Kushalnagar by late morning, in time for an early lunch. Check-in at Amanvana is from 1 pm.

Places to stop on the way

Srirangapatna is just off the expressway near Mysore, about 125 km from Bangalore, if you want to break the drive with a temple or a short walk.

The Golden Temple at Bylakuppe, the Namdroling Monastery, is 7 km before the resort and right on the route. It is a good last stop before you check in, or an easy outing the next morning. See our Golden Temple guide for timings.
